Annie Mac Announces Final Panel Line-up For AMP London Conference
Britain’s most beloved DJ and premier music tastemaker Annie Mac has today announced the final list of panels, speakers and topics all up for debate and discussion at this years AMP London Conference, to be held at Camden House on Friday, March 6th.
Recording Artists Ellie Goulding and Jordan Stephens (of Rizzle Kicks) will join Annie alongside Radio 1 host Maya Jama, music manager Ben Mawson (Tap Management, Dua Lipa, Lana Del Rey) and Polydor Records Co-President Ben Mortimer, to have an open and frank conversation with regards to taking responsibility for mental health within the music industry.
Other topics set to be discussed at the event include sustainability, LGBTQ+ inclusivity and breaking down barriers for women in what has historically and notoriously been known to be a very male dominated industry.
Those attending the AMP London Conference next month can expect to gain insight into today’s rapidly evolving and ever-changing creative musical community, as AMP organisers aim to spotlight inspiring topics that will ignite conversations surrounding the landscape of the industry, and highlight the work going on behind the scenes that will hopefully shape its future for the better.
“This music industry of ours is changing rapidly, artists are taking control of their careers.” Annie Mac explains. “The independent path has proven viable and streaming has democratised the consumption process, making commercial success up for grabs to anyone who wants to give it a go. It’s a really exciting time.”
“There are still, however, huge sticking points for me; the conservatism when it comes to gender representation; the lack of diversity through the top tiers of the industry; the lack of systematic procedure to protect artists when it comes to mental health; and the urgent need for action on the industry’s contribution to the environmental crisis… come and join us, there is still much to discuss!“
Artists also scheduled to appear include Olly Alexander (Years & Years), Mahalia, Raye and Fuse ODG.
