Sneaky is an American professional gamer, Twitch streamer, YouTuber, social media influencer, and cosplayer whose playing career extended from 2012 to 2019. Before his long-standing association with Cloud9 began in 2013, Sneaky was associated with several other esports teams – Ordinance Gaming (2012), Absolute Legends NA (2012), Pulse Esports (2012–2013), Team Dignitas (2013), and Quantic Gaming (2013).
In 2015, Cloud9‘s 14 games played over 3 days gave them North America’s 3rd seed to the 2015 Season World Championship, the team’s 3rd successive qualification to the major tournament. In those 14 games, Sneaky played Vayne in four games (3–1) and Draven twice (2–0), and had a 10.09 KDA across Cloud9‘s victories. He received the ‘MVP’ (Most Valuable Player) title for that series of games.
The team was considered the underdog at the Season World Championship but had surprised everyone with an undefeated 3–0 the first week. In the second week, Cloud9 needed only one win to advance to the quarter-final stage but was unable to get it.
In 2018, just days before the start of the summer split, Cloud9‘s owners and coaches had surprised the League of Legends competitive community by announcing that Sneaky along with 2 other key members of the team were being benched in favor of Cloud9 Academy players. The management had cited motivation issues and concerns that their starting roster would not be able to qualify for the playoffs, a decision that did not quite go well with the fans.
He became an independent, full-time streamer on Twitch, leaving the professional gaming scene in January 2020. On this platform, he has garnered more than 2 million followers. Despite not playing professionally, he has maintained that he has not retired from the competitive scene, thus leaving some scope for rejoining.
On July 10, 2020, he returned for a special LCS show match where the old Cloud9 team was reunited.
